Billion 5200G 802.11g Wireless Router Configuration
How to configure the Billion 5200G 802.11g to connect to freedom2surf
|
Step 1. Open Internet Explorer or your preferred web browser and type: http://192.168.1.254 into the address bar then hit enter or click go.
You will be presented with a user name and password prompt. Enter user name as admin, password as admin and click OK. This will take you to the modem's main page.
Step 2. When setup for the first time the router will automatically be in Quick Start. Click the RUN WIZARD button. You will be presented with a summary of the Quick Start process. Click the NEXT button.
Step 3.To properly secure your router you should choose a new admin password for the device. Enter and confirm the new password and click NEXT.
Step 4.Select your time zone. This should default to GMT. Click the NEXT button.
Step 5.Select the ISP Connection type . this will default to PPoE/PPPoA which is the correct setting for a freedom2surf ADSL account. Click the NEXT button.
Step 6.Use the following information to setup up the router:
Connection Type = PPPoA VC-Mux
VPI = 0
VCI =38
Username = enter your Freedom2Surf ADSL username.
Password = your freedom2surf ADSL password
For example: ADSL08702423759@f2s.gw3
Click the NEXT button.
Step 7.Confirm that you want to Save the settings or go back and correct any mistakes. Click NEXT to save or BACK to go back.
Step 8.When the settings have been saved you will see the following message confirming that the router has been set up.
