Connection Problems

I have connected my SDSL router but there is no line signal being detected.

Ensure the router you have supports SDSL. An ADSL router will not work with on an SDSL line.



I do have an SDSL router but still no signal.

Try changing the cable connecting your router to your SDSL wall socket. If this does not help please raise a trouble ticket or contact freedom2surf Technical Support.



I have a signal from the line but I cannot connect.

Please check that your router is configured correctly and with the correct username and password. This username and password would have been sent to you in an email soon after you registered for the service.



My connection seems slow.

The nature of the Internet and traffic patterns across various time zones and locations, and peak usage means that consistent performance of Internet browsing cannot always be guaranteed. If however you are certain that performance is substantially degraded over a period of time, then you should:
1. Disable any firewalls or internet protection software you are running on your PC.

2. Perform a speed test at www.kbps.co.uk at 3 different periods of the day.
4. The following speeds are expected when using SDSL. The speed may fluctuate but usually not more than 30%.
    SDSL 512K service -> 45 - 60 KBPS
    SDSL 1MB service -> 80 - 120KBPS
    SDSL 2MB service -> 170 - 240KBPS
